alfa customer days 2010: New business models and innovative new products
Around 60 representatives of the publishing industry accepted alfa Media's invitation to take part in the alfa customer days 2010 in Oberursel. Under the slogan "OpenBusiness 2.0", a wide range of informative specialist presentations given by experts from the company and top-class external speakers was on offer from 11 to 12 March 2010.

March 11 was devoted entirely to the editorial needs of publishing companies. Birthe Kretschmer, Newsplex Associate Consultant at WAN-IFRA and host of the first day, kicked off the event in impressive style with her lecture entitled "Added value or added work – the interaction of print and online media“. Following this theoretical examination, Michael Kreisler and Rainer M. Wilbert, product managers at alfa Media,
demonstrated how alfa MediaSuite handles multi-channel functions in practice. Jeso Figas-Olgar from Apple Germany delivered an exciting presentation of his views on the mobile, digital consumers of today and tomorrow. With the aid of the alfa iMediaSuite and alfa iAdSuite iPhoneTM applications, Michael Kreisler then illustrated how publishers can deliver these ideas to the multi-platform iPhoneTM. John Gavin Daidone, head of online advertising at the "Solinger Tageblatt", used his website www.solinger-tageblatt.de to show just how intuitive alfa PortalSuite and alfa MediaSuite are to operate. The first day closed with a presentation by Heiko Eckert, Strategic Consultant at bigmouthmedia, which not only shed light on online marketing trends but also yielded valuable tips for search engine optimization.
The second day was hosted by Harald Löffler, Research Manager at WAN-IFRA. His presentation dealing with the implementation of new advertisement concepts introduced the part of the event devoted to advertisements. Turning the spotlight on advertising customers, Michael Kreisler then presented the wide-ranging CRM functions in the alfa AdSuite Enterprise order management system. This was followed by a lecture from Stephan Meyer, head of project management, in which he outlined the opportunities for cross-media advertising management using the application by alfa Media. Afterwards, alfa SalesPoint "took the stage" to demonstrate the next generation of customer self-service that opens up new possibilities for media companies and customers alike. A look ahead to the strategic future of alfa Media rounded out the event.
In addition to the large number of high-quality presentations, there was plenty of time for intensive discussions between guests and speakers. "The lively discussions bear testament to the great interest among participants and prove just how relevant the topics addressed are to our customers," commented Guido Falcenberg, Chief Executive Officer of alfa Media. "We look forward to deploying our solutions in helping media companies become virtuoso practitioners of the multi-media instrument."
